Supporting people with lived experience and their carers to participate in our 20th Congress
Our Section has a proud history of participation from delegates from all over the world from a range of different backgrounds and experiences. As part of this ongoing tradition, in our 20th congress we wish to encourage people with lived experience of mental health difficulties and their carers interested in population mental health, public mental health or social psychiatry to participate in the congress.
What we will offer delegates by lived experience and their carers
We are making a limited number of heavily discounted tickets available to people with lived experience and their carers. These tickets will be available for £5 each, compared with the standard ticket price of £625 for researchers. These tickets will allow delegates by lived experience or their carers equal and full participation in the congress. You can read more about the application process here.
Making a donation to our bursary fund
During registration delegates will have the opportunity to make a donation to our EPA Section bursary fund. You can make donations of £10, £25 or £50. All donations will help subsidise a place for people with lived experience or their carers. We would be unable to offer this without your support. We are very grateful for any support you can provide. Your donation will appear as “EPA Section bursary fund” on your invoice. Should you have any questions about this, please contact epa2022@psychepi.org.
How we will use your donation
All donations to the EPA Section bursary fund will be ringfenced to support delegate places by lived experience or their carers. We aim to support up to 15 delegates by lived experience attending, who will apply for a place to attend. Your donation will go towards covering the cost of one of these places at the congress. In the event that the total amount we receive from donations exceeds the total cost of these places, any surplus will be used to support travel or accommodation costs for delegates by lived experience or their carers. Any remaining surplus will be donated to a charity involved in providing community interventions to improve population mental health. You can request a report about how we used donations after the close of the congress by emailing epa2022@psychepi.org.
We thank you for donating to our EPA Section bursary fund.
